For those of you who dont speak computer let me translate:
The Polish Ambassador is a beat machine from the future. Hailing simultaneously from the far reaches of other dimensional Universes and… Oakland, California, this dude drops his own unique blend of electro-funked, glitch-tweaked, wobble-freaked breakbeats that will have you dropping that bottom like it was 92…..3092, that is.
The Ambassador builds all of his live sets from a monstrous stash of original drums, bass, synth, and vox lines. “No Genre Left Behind,” Sugalski jokes as he blends elements of funk, glitch, idm, hip hop, 80s music, jungle, and dub into a beat soup that will instigate healthy doses of booty shake and fist pump.
Claiming to be Poland’s ambassador to the Universe, Sugalski has released 5 studio albums, all independently. Diplomatic Immunity in 2007, The Phantasmal Farm in 2008, I Found Him. Now I Must Kill Him in 2009, Mating Season (released under the Ample Mammal alias) and First Words in 2010. All 5 albums have obtained favorable press and achieved regular rotation on college, independent, and internet radio.
Its now 2011 and The Polish Ambassador just finished transmitting his latest album to distribution centers all across the galaxy. Its human readable title is ‘Future, Sex, and Computers’. It has already been responsible for massive system failure in computer systems throughout the globe, the most heavily hit region to date has been Northern California. The Polish Ambassador takes care of his people and just last week offered the whole album for free on bandcamp.com, and today its available for only 10$.
Most important of all, if you reside in the San Francisco earea -TONIGHT he will be addressing the nation @ Public Works (14th & Mission) – Bikes & Beats - and best of all attendance is only 6$(Presale) 10$(Door). This is the OFFICIAL album release party for SF, and if your into bikes this event is a collab with SF Bike party and there will be bike geeks in attendance to geek out with and help fix your busted whip. If you know me then – you already know mayne – ill be there glitching out.
So we are a little belated in celebrating dirtybird‘s 5 year anniversary (Arpil 2010) but there’s always time to give some props. Dirtybird is based out of SF and they consistently drop fire. Their catalogue covers a wide range of genres from house to tribal, over to hyphy and back again, but one thing is for sure – the basslines are always heavy hitting. Dirtybird’s label artists Claude von Stroke and the Martin Brothers (Justin and Christian Martin); as you know, they have some major hits under their belt. Hitup their Beatport Artist profiles to hear what I’m talking bout – Claude Von Stroke, Justin Martin, Christian Martin.
For their Five Year Anniversary they dropped a triple CD split up into ‘The Past’ ‘The Present’ and ‘The Future’. Lots of amazing production throughout, with ‘The Present’ being mixed by DJ Justin Martin. As you’ve probably noticed, we are no stranger to the likes of Dirtybird – check out the latest Fresh Kuts mix, which features one of my current favorites – Crack El (Justin Martin’s Stoopit Crunk-ill Hyphy Mix).
So you’re amped, now go checkout the full writeup on dirtybird’s website about their Five Year Aanniversary which includes a few paras about how they got started. Ok, now I’im gonna leave you with 2 tracks- one from ‘The Past’, and one from ‘The Future’.
