One of my buddies from a couple years back started making some dubs. His name is Ian Murphy and he produces under the guise 65L. I came across his latest piece on Soundcloud and it is some really well-produced stuff! Kind of reminds me of the chill-factor displayed in Skream’s Sub Island or even Rottan, care of dubstep’s favorite wind-instrument, the flute. Airy atmospheric sounds equipped with a strong handle on strategic panning, guide you through a fog-filled journey deep into the dub forest. About 30 seconds in, the sub-rattling bass queues up and delivers the goods!

Got some fresh talent coming straight from the home turf today. Rey Resurreccion is an emcee/producer from San Jose, California. Growing up, Rey has emulated hip hop legends such as The Pharcyde, Tupac, and Outkast into a well balanced, classic sound. On the track, Rey comes with a smooth laid back style over a combination of hard drums, original compositions, and nostalgic samples. The album “Limitless” has the feel of Dr. Dre’s Chronic 2001 production with the delivery of an emcee like Rakim or Nas. Rey independently produced and released the 14 track opus titled “Limitless” which features Oneself, Ronnie Lee, & Gi.
Hyphidelity (Furan + Oh My!) presents their new party series, SLUMPERParty, in light of Furan’s birthday!
