Every so often a blogger introduces an artist under the premise that they have been friends for a long time and that they can’t wait for them to make it big. Well, I always thought that might take away from the artist’s credibility slightly so for this article I’ll make sure to keep the personals to a minimum. I will say that I’ve known this heavy-hitting producer for a few months & he is without a doubt one of the most talented artists I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Coupled with a humble attitude and an incredible work ethic, Bassex is my choice for breakout artist to watch over the next 12 months.
With major releases for both Play Me and Burn the Fire Records, it is no surprise the young newcomer has garnished industry wide support & attention. Receiving praise from the likes of LA dons Cold Blank & Play Me Records badass Reid Speed, Bassex newly released EP is quickly climbing the Beatport Charts. Signed with the artist agency Vital Management, you can bet on seeing him rocking a town near you. Check out his fire and be prepared to melt.
It has been a little over a month since my last post, so many unanswered emails, excited to get back into it. We have some awesome content coming for the end of the year & what better way to get the ball rolling than with electro / dubstep / drumstep vunderkid, FIGURE. Wielding a long musical background, it took just a few short years for his smashing productions to garner worldwide attention and praise.
“The Save Sunday siege goes on, I continue my life as an electronically transient music writer due to my unfortunate lack of laptop. Things are looking up & I will be back to cranking out weekly selections from my library quick fast and in a hurry. Keep it twisted until then with a new favorite MartyParty mixtape; irresistible, ghettobass summer jams incoming. Devour the mixtape and feast on his collaboration with west coast bass technician, Minnesota. Blast ‘em everybody, startle your neighbors.” -joseph
“Here is the deal. I have been relegated to an outdated desktop computer after an unfortunate laptop crash so no access to my music (I’m probably the only writer working without an external hard drive). Good news, California badman Supreme steps in to sicken up your Sunday, enjoy his latest promo mixtape & cop the newest bassweight getting plays on Mistajam’s BBC1xtra show. US Dubstep stand up.” -joseph
“I couldn’t be more excited to write up a ticket giveaway, you will most definitely know where I will be Thursday night as San Francisco readies herself to riot. Drum & bass icon and innovator Spor will be performing as his bass heavy electro alter ego, Feed Me as Torq SF & Vital SC collaborate to bring in the monster mau5trap label producer to 420 Mason Street. The spacious home of the SF nightclub Ruby Skye boasts one of the heaviest sound systems in the city and as per usual a few quick clicks may get you in for free. Who’s your daddy?”

“Here we go, the first of hopefully a long line of appearance by dubious and suspicious characters; we are warming up with a guestmix sent from bay area bangduck, Chronologix. He will be holding down the 414 Room at SF super club Ruby Skye (alongside yours truly), as we welcome Drum & Bass phenoms Dirtyphonics, for TORQ’s double-headliner night also featuring Cosmic Gate! Dangerously stoked for who else we will see on Save Sunday throwing down.” -joseph
“The massive music performance monsters at Insomniac have big plans for their big bad west coast super rave this year. They will test a new battle ground for a beloved festival and Our House Records wants you there.” – joseph
The boys from OHR, the SF based electro promotion company & record label, sadly can not attend the electronic festivities this year. They will be sorely missed. Lucky for you, however, they are feeling the love. OHR have announced they will send one winner a three day festival pass to the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas! At a dollar value of close to $200 this is a rare opportunity to win some epic free loot. Big ups Our House Records, very well done.
