It is, and has been, officially summer for us over here in California. Winter seemed to drag on forever, even as hints of summer tried to break through during what was supposed to be spring. It was great for everything to finally transition into the wonderful weather we’re now basting in! We had our first day party just this past weekend, and I couldn’t have enjoyed myself more! Good tunes, good friends, and great weather; which is what brings me to this next mix.

I don’t know entirely too much about Misery Peat, except for that he is from Italy and that he spins and produces some ultra groovy, garage-dubby, downtempo type electronica. This mix has some great originals, and some awesome big names scattered throughout, such as Four Tet, Caribou, Flying Lotus & J Dilla. Awesome summertime feel-good jams right here! I try my best not to constantly “re-blog,” as I feel that many blogs these days, whether they exist in the music realm or not, tend to simply be RSS feeds for other blogs. But, with that said, I obviously have my reasons for the next re-post: George Lenton’s Birthday Mix for Squeegie’s 1 year birfday celebration! Squeegie turned one year old this past April and had a bunch of different artists make them birthday mixes. So many big names jumped up to help with the occasion, so you’ll be seeing mixes from: Jamtech Foundation, Rumblejazz, L.A. Boxers, Neoteric, Sduk, Cntrst, (and also Squeegie’s very own) Brookah and MacGregor!

Lenton’s 9:28 mix is packed with 20 tracks, bizzy-bouncing all over the place. Some real excellent mixing here, as Lenton proceeds to flawlessly jump from genre to genre, covering the grounds of hip hop, drum and bass, house, and of course, dubstep. Top-notch stuff here folks! Let’s Mix has been around for awhile now. I remember reading about the website through some blogs a while back and thought the concept was pretty sweet. When I first visited the site, it wasn’t too big, and not too many mixes had actually made there way onto the platform. It has since gained a lot of popularity and is now home to thousands of mixes!

I’ve just been loading up this site during work and randomly picking mixes — and for the most point I haven’t been disappointed. The site tells you exactly what track is playing during the mix, so hunting down them choonz just got a bit easier! Hoorah!

About Let’s Mix and the people behind it:
Simply: an online platform where you can listen to music mixes and upload, share and promote your own music mixes. The people behind Let’s mix spend pretty much all of our waking hours listening to or interacting with music. Some of us DJ on the regular when not writing code, others just love hearing new music, sharing it and giving new life to old tracks by mixing them up.

For some reason, we never really found a place on the web that catered to all our different needs. We wanted to find new music from our favorite DJ’s and labels. But also be able to easily upload, manage and promote the mixes we do ourselves, without all the hassle of using different FTP sites, copy-pasting track lists to blogs and social networks – and still end up with something that looks like crap because it’s just a boring old download link.

I hadn’t heard about these Netherland-dwelling electro masters until about a month or two ago. Don’t know how I slept on that one, but I am now well aware of their awesome, and so are you!
