First post whatup!!! I’ll admit I was hesitant to do so as I felt I’d somehow bring down the entire site with my stupidity however I took a deep breath and here we are. What a way to start with the bangin’ electro trio ‘Black Noise’ or for those who don’t know, also run under the alias ‘Aquasky’. Since their creation in 2009 Black Noise have been making bass monsters with releases on Simma, Southern Fried and Wearhouse Music. Their latest EP is another instalment to the Wearhouse Music catalogue and produces three electro killers.

My pick of the bunch is ‘Work That Sucker’ as I love the vocal shots but the collab between Black Noise, Lee Mortimer & Wizard Sleeve is rad with the filter disco. Expect this EP out on beatport way soon!

It has certainly been awhile since I’ve made a post, so get ready for one of those deals where I just combine what should essentially be 7-8 different posts in to one mega post. Been workin’ a lot and “hittin’ the studio” as of late, so I’ve been a bit lazy on the blog side of things. Oops!

First up is Fukkk Offf’s latest tunes from his WorldWide EP (and it has top-notch artwork too). First is a big-room electro choon with some definite techno influences. And the second is an electro-zapped shorty beat slung up with hot rhymes from sassy MC, Hazel. Git git git down!

If you’ve followed UK icon Lee Mortimer’s releases this past year, you may have noticed somewhat of a trend: lofty trance synth interludes leading into wonked-out extraterrestrial electro spasms. There was “Blau!” – his collab track with Laidback Luke – and now this.

Is this Mortimer’s attempt to leave his imprint on global dance music? By pioneering a new trans-genre sound / a new way of thinking about house? The idea is almost too simple… and yet he executes it with such blaring acuity – and creates this feel that is so unmistakably Lee – that I’m sold every time. Not that he needed to make more of a mark on house music. With his remixes of “Rocker Man,” “Fade To Grey,” “Bootsoul Nugget,” and “Get Busy,” he’s already defined himself as one of the highest masters of the detuned wobble.
