Today NI dropped a video showcasing some unreleased product for 2011. There has been a lot of speculation to what these additions may be, however as far as we can tell the only additions would be; new software version including colored waveforms (similar to serato), an updated audio box, sample decks, and possibly an updated Kontrol X1. Over here at CYV™ we are eager to see the innovations in new products these guys are putting out and 2011 looks to be something special as Traktor will be turning 10!!

As seen in the Dubfire video, Native Instruments is releasing their next DJ controller. Modeled after the Xone DX, the new Kontrol S4 has a few tricks that the previous Kontrol X1‘s didn’t.

For example the new looping feature that allows you to save loops on the fly and re trigger them later from the loop library. Other features include Jog Wheels, a built in Soundcard, and a Software Update. The new software is only paired with this unit for the moment and will be released later to update other versions. It is scheduled for release this winter priced at about $1000, so start pinching your pennies and drop that old Gemini 2 channel cause’ this bad boy is going to blow the toupe off your uncle Larry like the guy in the ’80s Maxell ad.
