Jack Union released their 33rd EP this week in celebration of their 4th anniversary. This EP is mint with a large selection of artist’s from the Jack Union roster including Hijack, Old Soul, Kimba, Trevor Loveys, Jeff Doubleu, Sick Jargon, Robert Boogert, Tom EQ, Brabe and The Potato Heads. Since my addiction to the label I can’t help but feel that it really is ahead of the game in many ways. Check out this EP, follow the label and you’ll see what I mean.

I love me some jackin’ tech house and Jeff Doubleu really delivers on these two remixes — especially with his bootleg of I Feel Better. The song itself, post drop, resembles nothing of the original, but he sets aside the breakdowns for some untouched, unadulterated Hot Chip. Super bouncy two-steppin’ freshness mixed with some classic feel-good! Dead Voice Funk is quite the number too. Crossing the line further into the tech-house side of things, the remix is pumped with soft organ stabs, bongo hits, and a soothing, slightly melancholy, male vocal loop. Groovy stuff!

This leads segue into the next artist of recent discovery, JACK SM1TH. I really wanted to nab this first track for you guys, but it’s only available on his soundcloud for now, so take a listen! Some deep-ish tech house sprinkled with pitch-bendiez.

And heres a mellower interpretation of WoNK’s Don’t Give Up The Disco. Pretty wonky still, but not nearly as ear-blasting as the original!

And today’s special is: Beat Soup served with a fresh Bangeruette. We got some top-notch fidgetry here, from the home of the wonkiest pitch-bent house music you can get your hands on, South Africa. Baboon Tunes comes hard with great artists like Schenk, Oliver Leigh & Jeff Doubleu. They just released Jack of All Trades: Part 2 on June 7th, and oh boy is this some exciting stuff! I was at work when I happened upon the release, and I ended up listening to almost every single track on the Baboon Tunes Soundcloud. And hey, I’ll be honest, I really hadn’t heard of a bunch of these artists, but I assure you, Baboon Tunes is serving up some seriously jackin’ house music.

Unfortunately I don’t have anything but Soundcloud preview tracks here, but we may have some downloadable promos from the label in the future — so stay tuned and put on them listening ears for all these tracks!

It’s been a hectic 2 weeks, so big ups to A+ and sofa for keeping the blog running. Thanks to everyone who made it out to our party this past Saturday — We had quite a fun night with everyone! I do have to apologize for not taking any pictures though… My camera wasn’t working for some reason, so we unfortunately will not have any pictures from this month. First up, we got some new stuff coming from Flufftronix. Flufftronix (aka Michael Lasday) is a Chicago-born, Philadelphia-based DJ, producer and party starter. A master of contrasts, Fluff is adept at dispensing face-crushing soulmelters (quoth Lil Jon on Fluff’s track Filthy Angels, “That shit just make you wanna punch the shit outta some motherfucker!”), sensual luvstep grooves and everything in between.
