Hey Girl EP

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

My debut EP dropped yesterday. Catch a few jackin’ house tracks I made over the past couple months — all with a bit of my signature ghetto flavor.

Here’s what Bone Idle had to say about the release:
“We have worked with Oh My! right back when the label was first started and he charted on Trackitdown with his first remix for Andru Pozzatron making waves across the soundcloud community with his unique style. When he’s not running his ever popular blog CHWYRVTMS or doing amazing designs (yep he did his own EP cover above to perfection), he’s locked in his studio banging out tunes of the twitchy, cut up house variety. Oh My! has a particular style in his sounds, with a brilliant ear for samples, he can take any sound/snippet/hit and turn it into a complete track with each part carefully placed to create an amazing collage of joyous noise (check out his Double Rainbow remix of Kunter:bunt’s ‘The Brightest Color’ for a fine example of how theYouTube rainbow man made it to stardom).

His debut EP doesn’t sway from the remix styles you all know him for, and once again we are excited to present three original tracks from the master of jack. Pack your bags, were off to bounce!”

Russian Fidget

Russian producer Sunko coming out of nowhere with a fat release on Lee Mortimer’s Wearhouse Records.

WEAR039 Sunko – Dirty Lustre EP by Lee Mortimer

This is not off the release, but a really fresh remix he did (assumably for the Jack Union remix contest):

My Lady Don’t Mind

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

Huge release dropped on Crux recently. Blatta & Inesha take their sound to a new Techno, which is supplemented by their mastery of the electro boom. Side A’s “My Lady Don’t Mind” is future Techno / Disco on acid with the usual dose of B&I humor! Side B’s “Daddy’s Home” is a super combo from the sicilian electro dons, including their olive-loving brother, Doc Trashz.

On remix duty is a special bunch of amazing talent. Veteran Crux artist, Modek displays his unique badass electro from belgium, while Tomorrow’s superstars, 2 Guys in Venice, drop an experimental percussive house version straight from the floating city. And from one of the last mediterranean countries not engulfed in flames, we have Gooseflesh’s bomb of electro house with an exotic Turkish touch.

As a little bonus track B&I step it down a notch with an electro hip hop rave number. Bringing back his roots as a world famous scratch DJ, Inesha called upon his brother of the turntables..the mighty Tayone to collaborate on this little gem.

Check It!

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

I’m always looking for that straight-up funky-ass no-bullshit jackin’ wonk groove… And it’s not always easy to find just what I’m looking for, but recently I was graced with a forwarded email from Klangekstase Records and was way too happy with the outcome. The email regarded Campbell’s new EP “Check It,” which came out early last month. All three of the original tracks on the EP (“Check It,” “Make It Bump,” and “Slush Puppy”) fulfill exactly what I’m talking about. When I listen to or even just think about these tracks, my mind becomes too boggled with excitement and fixation to even speak. And yet here I am trying to do so. The words that I can come up with to give you a picture of Campbell’s bouncy, bangin’ productions are: delicately juicy percussion textures; a REALLY fresh-sounding bass synth; long exhilarating breakdowns; very well-chosen samples such as those in “Slush Puppy” that are from the Beastie Boys’ “Body Movin’.”

The remixers on the Check It EP all deliver fun, crafty work as well. I’d like to point you towards Whack Flava’s “Check It” remix in particular.

Get on Up

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

getonupEP

Andru Pozzatron’s ‘Get On Up’ is a funk-infused house track with chopped filtered vocals cascading over a backdrop of fidget beats and a hard-edged synth lead; we love the drop and build in this track and judging by the feedback, so do our listeners! Check it out.

About the remixes:
To complement ‘Get On Up’ we got in a bunch of remixers that would put a different spin on the original. Oh My! had already impressed us with a string of bootlegs and taking second place on the release he strips back the original and gives us some beautiful cut up fidget with clean crisp beats and a bass that makes us keep on playing this one. Coming in next is Carbon Parlour’s ‘Everybody Up Rerub.’ We wanted electro and she delivered us a bomb for the dance floor — this builds into a drop with a bass line the crowds will love. Schenk then takes us on a journey and turns the sound upsid- down with what we can only describe as a “cool street life fidget remix.” Anyone who is familiar with Schenk’s vast catalogue of releases will know his productions are pure quality; you have to hear this this one. Finally, we mentioned diversity, and Footjam delivered with the final mix. He puts in an immense amount of time and effort into his tracks and continues to surprise us with his unique sounds, so expect some heavy synths and mind-bending percussion in this remix.

The above copy was all written by the label — so I’m not honkin’ the hype-horn on myself here. Very excited to bring you this release, as it’s my first label release, as well as the gateway into my music being distributed on Beatport, iTunes, Juno & more. Get down on this Beatport button and support Bone Idle Records and the amazing artists I get to sit beside! Oh, and one more thing — I made the EP art too. If you like what you see, holler at MadeService™ for your design needs!

Major Lazer’s new EP ‘Lazers Never Die’

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

major_lazer_cyv

B-r-r-r-raaHHH B-R-R-R-AAAHH

With dancefloors accross the country still recovering from their ‘Lazers Never Die’ tour, Major Lazer is set to drop a new EP by the same name on July 20th. Taking a break from some of the sooper bloopers we saw on ‘Guns Dont Kill People .. Lazers Do‘, the new ep reps a chiller vibe just in time for da summer. But one thing hasn’t changed, and that is the group of A-Listers that rolled through the legendary Tuff Gong studios to collab on da EP. Ok now for some mp3s — took some serious daggering …I mean digging, but I’ve got 3 of the upcoming singles off the EP for you here today!

1. Sound of Siren (featuring M.I.A. and Busy Signal) (128)
2. Good Enough (featuring Collie Buddz and Lindi Ortega) (128)
3. Bruk Out (Buraka Som Sistema Mix) (128)
4. Can’t Stop Now (K.L.A.M. Remix feat. Miss Banks)
5. Jump Up (Thom Yorke Remix)

Bonus: Ok, so you’re down with those tracks, but where are the new bangers at!? Well, Major Lazer and Afrojack have been playing out a follow up to the devastating ‘Pon De Floor.’ Some are calling it ‘Pon De Streets,’ others are calling it ‘Drive By,’ either way, its been slaying it. Heres a recent youtube clip of Major Lazer in philly dropping 2 unreleased tracks. The first one is unknown, but might be called ‘Original’ (?), and the second one is ‘Pon De Streets’.

Ohh and for all the ladies and fellas who need the 411 on daggering, check out Skerrit Bwoy‘s instructional video.
