“I’m going to switch up the format for Save Sunday. If anyone wanted to see what they looked like before, Save Sunday 017 was my favorite over the last year. The new layout will be very different, however I’m still incorporating a monthly mini-mix of sounds I’m feeling. Every month we will select a charity. For every “Like” & “Share” on the original link the day Save Sunday is posted, I will donate 50 cents to the chosen charity. The first charity will be St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. As a precaution, I will lower or RAISE the amount donated per “Like” & “Share” at my discretion so that there is always a minimum donation every month & to ensure I can do this for as long as possible. Cool, let’s see how it goes. I’ll post a screen shot of the donation transaction, of course.
This is the first Save Sunday I ever did & it’s going to be the test rat for this week. I think it’s appropriate at the end.” -joseph
For once I’d like to go low on the verbiage here and just ask you to check out these six tracks from various underground producers from around the globe. You’ll like the way they sound… I guarantee it!
Some of these are free downloads so be sure to click on the title to cop those ones.
For one minute and forty-six seconds, it’s all up in the air. Have Jack Beats abandoned that grimy bass sound that we see visualized in the dripping green slime of their logo?
Alas, they have not. They are more devoted to it than ever, fusing it with some catchy yet tolerable vocals from Donae’o so that even Swedish House Mafia fans will succumb to its craze-inducing, bouncy fidget wobbles!
“You Should Know” will be out May 13th on Columbia Records.
To the weekend warriors, the nightlife ninjas, and the curbside crawlers, we are with you all the way.
Here at CYV we encourage herbal remedies, Bloody Marys, and of course a daily dose of slap to aide all the aches, bumps, and bruises collected over your weekend.
It’s simple: Save Sunday is five songs, one mixtape, easy to play, easy to repeat, and of course download links provided for mobile enjoyment. All sounds get love so expect to find everything from booms to bangs.
Sundays never looked so good.
“We have a guestmix this week from my partner in grime Mikey Dropz! Big room house for everyone!” -joseph
A new partnership in sound has emerged across the pond. The legendary Foamo and the slaughterous Rack N Ruin have united – and created a monster. This monster is both sophisticated and ghetto, mellow and rousing, ravey and beachy. This monster is Gorgon City!
Get acquainted – because Gorgon City may well be one of your main sources of soulful vibes and fat bass from here on out.
Check out “Odyssey” and “The Truth” in the players below, and also be aware that their remix of Santigold’s “Disparate Youth” is available as a free download here!
You already know a diligent CYV blogger wouldn’t waste this opportunity to ask one of his earliest dubstep heroes a few questions. Nothing major, this wasn’t an interview, but I did learn a thing or two. When asked what it was like touring the country, doing it big, seeing all the sights, he commented:
“It’s weird, but fun. When I tell people what I do they either assume I live in my mother’s basement and smoke too much, or that I’m someone famous. It’s strange there is no middle ground.”
If any one of you fine folks caught his recent SF appearance for Night Light Riot you got to witness the Minnesota badman bring down some major fire and brimstone. A set bolstered to the brim with rattling bangers & merciless melodies, Vaski shook the Black Door to the core.
His wild-child style is spliced with a humility & realness that is always appreciated among artists. The dood really just cut it up with me the whole car ride back. Support Vaski music.
