To the weekend warriors, the nightlife ninjas, and the curbside crawlers, we are with you all the way. Here at CYV we encourage herbal remedies, Bloody Marys, and of course a daily dose of slap to aide all the aches, bumps, and bruises collected over your weekend.
It’s simple: Save Sunday is five songs, one mixtape, easy to play, easy to repeat, and of course download links provided for mobile enjoyment. All sounds get love so expect to find everything from booms to bangs.
“So I’ve picked up Save Sunday again. I’ve been extraordinarily busy, but these couple tracks really made an impression, prompting my return. Be warned this is hands down the strangest Save Sunday I’ve done so far. I’m Dabbling in the glitch-hop, mid-tempo range of the spectrum. Feed back and reposts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone, see you next week.
PS. I know I skipped Save Sunday 009. I really can’t explain that.” -joseph
Here today with some super hot wax, MACHINEDRUM‘s ALARMA EP! Travis Stewart of NYC has been producing a bounty of good tunes for the past 10 years. His style is always evolving, pushing the boundaries and exploring new realms of EDM. This EP is a gem with all 4 tracks bringing something different to the table, a nice showcase of his diverse styles. ALARMA is a BIG tune, making its way thru clubs and festivals worldwide, most definitely a bass-driven dancefloor destroyer. Released earlier this year on LuckyMe as a limited 500 vinyl pressing only, this EP sold out instantly on Boomkat & Juno! It is still available for a short time over at TTL, so I suggest you get those fingers clickin’ before they are gone!
Every so often a blogger introduces an artist under the premise that they have been friends for a long time and that they can’t wait for them to make it big. Well, I always thought that might take away from the artist’s credibility slightly so for this article I’ll make sure to keep the personals to a minimum. I will say that I’ve known this heavy-hitting producer for a few months & he is without a doubt one of the most talented artists I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Coupled with a humble attitude and an incredible work ethic, Bassex is my choice for breakout artist to watch over the next 12 months.
With major releases for both Play Me and Burn the Fire Records, it is no surprise the young newcomer has garnished industry wide support & attention. Receiving praise from the likes of LA dons Cold Blank & Play Me Records badass Reid Speed, Bassex newly released EP is quickly climbing the Beatport Charts. Signed with the artist agency Vital Management, you can bet on seeing him rocking a town near you. Check out his fire and be prepared to melt.
In a few hours the doors of 715 Harrison St. (San Francisco, CA) will open to thousands of hopeful guests, all clamoring for a chance to see two of the UK’s biggest bass music acts take over Wednesday’s biggest party, EPR. First up we have BBC Radio 1 badman, CRISSY CRISS! An internationally renowned DJ, producer & presenter, this 20-something year old deck star will be unleashing armageddon in the form of drum & bass, dubstep, and hip-hop fury. As if that wasn’t enough Never Say Die Records boss, SKISM, is in the house, ready to bring the venue down with the unrelenting dubstep assaults he has become world famous for.
It has been a little over a month since my last post, so many unanswered emails, excited to get back into it. We have some awesome content coming for the end of the year & what better way to get the ball rolling than with electro / dubstep / drumstep vunderkid, FIGURE. Wielding a long musical background, it took just a few short years for his smashing productions to garner worldwide attention and praise.
