Experiencing major Déjà vu as I blast this quick write-up on yet another sucker free ticket giveaway from us full-time hype beasts here at CYV. Wasn’t it just a few months ago that we hooked up some lucky winners with the chance to see this moombahton menace live in action? Fresh from NYE escapades at the brand new SnowGlobe Festival (an icy fresh assortment of the most sought after names in electronic music) Dillon Francis is back at Manor West to give everyone another healthy dose of booty music.
Contest rules are simple: “like” our page, post the link to this article on your facebook timeline & winners will be announced Friday. The loot is 4 pairs of tickets (8 tickets total) so that makes 4 winners & their guests. Make sure you keep an eye out for us when we contact you!
IMPORTANT: In order to receive tickets you must have a valid email address.
One of your most promising options for New Year’s this year: the Snowglobe Music Festival in Lake Tahoe, December 29-31. The line-up guarantees three days of the nastiest dubstep, glitch-hop, hip-hop, and house. French YouTube mash-up star Madeon will be making one of his debut performances in the United States. Dillon Francis and Figure will be bringing in the exclusive new moombahton bangers in complement to their electro/fidget and dubstep roots (and a lot of drumstep in the case of Figure). Big Gigantic will represent the ever so common saxophone-with-live-EDM format. Underground glitch genius Dave Tipper will most likely be the favorite of anybody who’s had the pleasure of hearing him before. Porter Robinson, the 19- or 20- year-old electro house front-runner who’s been touring with Tiesto, will bring his sound to the Lake. “Community” TV star Donald Glover will be there as his rap alter ego, Childish Gambino. Also on the bill is Datsik, who was recently able to collab with the person who got him into bass music in the first place: Bassnectar. Bassnectar will be headlining the show alongside Pretty Lights, Thievery Corporation, and The Glitch Mob.
Check out the rest of the line-up here because the few artists I’ve mentioned hardly covers it.
We wouldn’t be doing our part as relevant and updated west coast bloggers if we didn’t let you know that this Friday September 14th, Dillon Francis will be visiting SF for an intimate show; The Moombahton Don will be taking over lavish Manor West and I feel it is our responsibility to get some of you fine people in for free! So let’s do this ticket give away. As per usual some rules:

“So I’ve picked up Save Sunday again. I’ve been extraordinarily busy, but these couple tracks really made an impression, prompting my return. Be warned this is hands down the strangest Save Sunday I’ve done so far. I’m Dabbling in the glitch-hop, mid-tempo range of the spectrum. Feed back and reposts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone, see you next week.
PS. I know I skipped Save Sunday 009. I really can’t explain that.” -joseph
“Hoe my god, look what we have brought you today.” – joseph

Uh..whoa. Dillon Francis, you flipped this track proper. I couldn’t have asked for anything better when it comes to a remix of this track. This one will go down in the club like whaaat!
Sebastien Leger returns to Dirtybird after a 6 year hiatus, bringin’ one of the most ‘buzz-worthy’ (gosh, I’m so clever) tracks I’ve heard in awhile. Some of that dirty bird brand of techno with a hint of jack.
Sepehr, Ardalan’s partner in crime, delivers a nice remix of ‘Balkan Blues’ — got some o dat boompty boom.
Another remix of the same track, this time by my man Mozo. Tech groove madness!
Couple days back I did a free boot of Lauryn Hill’s ‘That Thing.’ Press play and initiate lazer wobble madness.
Dillon Francis has already claimed his place amongst quickly rising dubstep and electro producers, but he’s also part of a newer movement. This movement is something no one really knows whether to take jokingly or seriously. The music of this movement was invented only one year ago by Dave Nada of Nadastrom. It’s easy to make, and it feels like slow-motion sex. It’s MOOMBAHTON. (See Oh My!’s original post on Moombahtoon back in March.)
For those who don’t already know, Moombahton is Dutch house slowed down to a tempo of around 108 beats per minute. It can make you laugh, and it can make you cry. It can also paralyze your inner core and actually warp your consciousness so that your mind perceives Time at 84% of its original rate.
“Masta Blasta” is some of the most recent Moombahton out there, and Dillon says it’s already getting a huge response. Sorry no download though, as it’s coming out on Plant Music in the near future. Also included here is the Moombahton version of DF’s collaboration with DJ Ammo, which Major Lazer opened their set with at Coachella this year.
