EPR 174 | AC Slater + Darth & Vader

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

A line has been crossed, one of my favorite weekly bump and grind fest’s has brought my focus for the week to a screeching halt. All I can think about is seeing two of my EDM heroes throw down shredding sets for what will be a steaming, packed night at 715 Harrison Street, home of EPR.

First up we have Brazilian complextro maestros, Darth & Vader; almost never seen in the United States, the duo will be making a stop to brand SF with their own style of in your face, high-tempo, electro assaults. With a heavy stockpile of remixes & original productions you can count on breaking it down from the start of their set till the end, when a club music legend will take the decks bringing everyone with him on a banging, bouncy ride.

The Brookyln bass bad boy AC Slater will be up next, gracing all of us with his signature blend of bassline, fidget, and most likely some dubstep. I promise you it will definitely be very, very sexy as the Trouble & Bass record don always delivers.

To round it off, I will supporting my idols with a performance earlier in the night as Robot Mafia. Stop by, bring a friend, do something questionable in the shadows of a club. Here are a few mixes if you can’t wait to boogie.

Good in the Hood | Niteppl

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

“I might start doing specific bits on local artists that have been killing it extra hard in a brief segment tentatively titled ‘Good in the Hood’. I’ve already done a few articles on booming bay area talent [K Theory, Bassex] and I’d like to continue that trend of exposing new, thriving, interesting, local musicians. Let’s see where this goes.”joseph

We are getting it started with one of our favorite emerging San Francsico music labels, Our House Records, and we mix it up with some of their freshest talent, Niteppl, blasting their newest EP entitled “Ghosts.”

The indie-electronic band based in SF is self described as a mixture of Space-Rock & Sleaze House, their recent performances have supported the likes of Ed Banger’s SebastiAn, Porter Robinson, The M Machine, and Liquid Stranger.

“With an arsenal of absolute audible bliss coming your way over the next few months, these two are a duo you definitely don’t want to take your eyes off of. This EP features their original work Ghosts, as well as a remix by special guests MPHD and THIEVES. Ending the four track release is a special made “Reprise” to help ease you out of the storyboard they will have painted in your mind.” – via Our House Records

Ticket to Monkeytown!

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

MODESELEKTOR‘s new album dropped today and it sure did have some tasty treats to offer! It may not be the freshest moombah beat or the most grimey dubstep slap but it isn’t more of that “minute music” and definitely shows seb & gernot’s skill in the studio. Some really good artist collabs on this one as well, especially Thom Yorke!
