I will get right down to it; my name is Joseph and I spin under the guise [robot.mafia]. I roam Northern California and my favorite words are sycophant, aesthetic, skull, crooked, malicious, and labyrinth. My interests are the noises that thunder after dark.

One such vibration emanates from the lair of a restless, punk musician, blatantly genre skipping through horror-electro, disco-pop, and beyond. Appropriately dubbed S-T3RRA, Sean Michael Terribilini is a young, electro-thrash artist churning out impeccably produced tracks from his base of operations, San Francisco, California. Currently signed to French record label, “Noise Dealerz,” S-T3RRA regularly performs alongside EDM favorites such as Designer Drugs, Villains, AC Slater, !Trash Yourself, Hot Pink Delorean, Disco Villains, The Toxic Avenger, and most recently Simian Mobile Disco.

Receiving unanimous support from the blogosphere, as well as overwhelming praise and attention from industry-renowned artists Pance Party (San Francisco), Valerna (Los Angeles), and Stereoheroes (Marseilles), S-T3RRA is embarking on an Australian tour in December and will be performing alongside dubstep rudeboy, Borgore, on the 19th in Melbourne. Here is Sean’s latest summoning, a graveyard disco anthem that kicks into dance floor distortion overdrive. And guess what? It’s free!

BAYngers & Mash

bangersandmash

I’m pretty selective about what mash-ups make it onto this blog. That being said, these next to tracks deserve some love. Bay rap + electro = win!

First up is a tune from a local cat, Mikeyydropz. The drop brings some mean speaker shakin’ sub bass, which is shortly followed by one of Bay Area’s finest, Andre Nickatina, spittin’ that real shit.
Wolfgang Gartner vs. Andre Nickatina – Yin (Mikeyydropz I’m a Pisces Edit)

And we also have quite a bayngin’ masher of CYV™ favorite, Claude VonStroke, and rap innovator Too $hort! What’s my favorite word?

Double Victory

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Many of you are aware of the recent Dandy Kid Records remix competition, in which two of your beloved CYV bloggers took part, along with 200-some fellow up-and-coming producers. What we have not yet announced, however, is that Oh My! and myself each stole a spot on the runner-up list. We thought we should make it known and give you a chance to grab both our remixes while they’re still hot!

trumpdisco

Trumpdisco boasts a rich history of remixes for prevalent artists such as Phoenix, Yolanda Be Cool, Greenskeepers, Rammstien and Haezer, yet this is barley the tip of the iceberg for this Australian duo. 2010 has been quite the year for Trumpdisco, achieving feats that only great talent can aspire to. After pushing the boundaries of electro, Trumpdisco have gone from strength to strength within there own right. Airplay on Kissy Sellout’s BBC RADIO 1 show and remixes featured regularly in the Bloody Beetroots sets has only continued to broaden Trumpdisco’s horizons.

The duo recently signed to Melbourne record label Common Trolls, and after a successful tour of South East Asia and New Zealand they are set to release their first official EP; the self-titled release is a blend of driving electro bass lines and tantalizing hooks, which are enough to make a mob lose control.

Gigi Barocco – PUAH (Trumpdisco’s Dylan Edit)
Adam Freeland – We Want Your Soul (Trumpdisco Remix)

And lastly, an unreleased Caribou remix boasting that summer-time festival vibe:

Bone Idle Records

Bone Idle Records is a spanky fresh new label with more than just potential. Off the bat, they’ve pulled in some extremely talented artists, so I don’t think it’ll be long before the name starts making its rounds around the web. They started things off with the Protect the Innocent E.P. from Carbon Parlour, which features remixes from 3D Criminalz, Jack Smith, NS2, & Campbell (many of which have already been featured here on CYV™). Red Hot and Wannabe King are very much electro, so 3DCriminalz flipped the script and cooked up a wobble frenzy while Jack Smith and Campbell went for some more traditional fidget. NS2 switched things up even more with broken beat mix, which breaks up the styles a bit, showing everyone Bone Idle Records isn’t stuck on one groove!

Carbon Parlour – Protect the Innocent E.P.
1. Carbon Parlour – Wannabe King (Original Mix) [192]
2. Carbon Parlour – Wannabe King (3DCriminalz Remix)
3. Carbon Parlour – Wannabe King (Jack Smith Remix) [192]
4. Carbon Parlour – Wannabe King (NS2s Royal Scam Mix)
5. Carbon Parlour – Red Hot (Original Mix)
6. Carbon Parlour – Red Hot (Campbell Remix)

Direct quote from Claire Bradford, the label’s owner:
“For me personally I wanted this to be a label that doesn’t ignore new artists when they send in demos, so while we need established talent I also want to hear new guys on the scene and let them know that they will hear back from us and we will keep in touch as they develop, and we will offer technical advice if its needed. Our scene in the UK is very much the home made producer and there is a huge gap in knowledge when it comes to providing a polished piece of music. So if anyone reading your blog is creating the music we love, then they can send a link to their music to us at demos@boneidlerecords.com or drop us some music into our Soundcloud dropbox and we will take a listen and get back to them.”

You can also catch a preview of their next release for Andru Pozzatron’s Get On Up, right here!

Be on the lookout for this cat — Pozzatron has some very well-crafted, off-the-wall beats!

grizz

Today I got you covered on the new bangerang EP from Sinden’s record label Grizzly. The artist ‘Wafa’ is still kinda new to productions and was inspired by Toddla T to make some quote “mad beat bleep shit” the result of which is the ‘Ewid Disco’ EP. Ewid Disco – the title track – has this mesmerizing double bubble bassline that will send your brain in circles and the B-Side ‘Man Down’ should not be overlooked its a 140 BPM bleepfest, slap an acapella on it and call it day. Wafa was the drummer for Basement Jaxx not too long ago, and you can definitely feel the influence, all the tracks on his EP are mega dubby with thick basslines. So quick run to the freezer cus youz about to MELT !

Wafa – Ewid Disco [192]
Wafa – Ewid Disco (Drop The Lime Remix)
Wafa – Ewid Disco (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Remix)
Wafa – Man Down [192]
Wafa – Pop Up

Holy House!

Monday, September 20th, 2010

I thought I should pass the word along about the new Holyboyz mixtape that they put together for the Pieces of Mayhem mixtape series. It’s a whole lot of dirty, body-crankin’ house, and I’m not sure there’s really anybody that wouldn’t enjoy it the whole way through.

Holyboyz – Pieces of Mayhem Vol. 7

The official announcement explains,

“These guys are getting some made love around the world, for there unique take on jacking house. This mixtape really highlights what they are about and what they play, it also features their upcoming ep on It_Tizz Records.”

These guys are coming from Russia and have received support from the likes of Wongo, Kyle Watson, and Jho FM.  Definitely check these guys out because they’ve been dropping some heavy jackin’-tech house and aren’t likely to call it quits any time soon. You can start by nabbing this Holyboyz track!

Fanta Jack – Soppy Italy (Holyboyz Remix)

Please also feel free to send your tracks to our email: info@chwyrvtmns.com
