First order of business: I think this blog needs a throwbacks post. You know, those tracks that bring even your parents out on the dance floor… Those remixes that make everyone think they’re just groovin’ to an oldie, but then in one unstoppable moment it all blows up in their face with the fattest monster of a bassline you could ever imagine in that moment.  You know what I mean.  It’s called a brainvasion.

My personal favorite is Mandem N Tandem of Toronto with their own take on The Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive.”

Next, South African fidget prodigy Dylan Holshausen and his buddy Shaun Fiddle, working together under the alias Wobbly Sluts, drop this great throwback of an old song that everyone knows in which the singer encourages a caucasian male to play some funk music at a party.

From there, we’ve also got LA duo Cold Blank’s hit “Doin’ It Right” and UK’s The Squatters on remix duty. I think the sample’s from somethin’ classic-ish… maybe not… but it def sounds like a throwback and you know what… that’s all that matters.  Anyway, it’s a bit on the cheesy side, but I can’t help imagining this hitting pretty hard in the heat of a well-invigorated dancefloor.

Finally, CYV™ homie Slade Templeton, and his UK partner Jack Stuart a.k.a. Jaksaw put together this heavy remix of the ’92 reggae-pop hit “Informer,” which definitely never fails to wreak the utmost havoc on large crowds of dancing hooligans.
