So I fell a bit behind on the OMGITM! series, only to come back to one of the best mixes I’ve heard all year. This thing is jam-packed with high-energy tech-house, dutch/tropical, salsa-infused gyspy house, electro and disco break goodness! Gucci Vump, Noob, Riva Starr, Malente, Bingo Players…and the list goes on. Big Ups to Keith & Supabeatz!

Not actually Matt here, the other half instead (Jackie!).
I’m a designer too, so working long hours, all hours of the day, music all the time. Stuff I like to zone to usually is IDM-esque, ambient electronica that is light on the vocals, sometimes experimental, all usually downtempo. There are some of my latest faves.
This is a track my friend JR turned me on to, a remix by Error Love of sayCet‘s Opal. Couldn’t tell you much about either except both are super French, but check out the links if you want more goodness.
This new advertising campaign for MTV Classic is utterly amazing! Delightfully retro and twisted up with a nice dosage of hip, UFO brings you some seriously well-produced visuals here.

Thanks to everyone who came out for The Slump! It was an awesome night! Big up to Adam (A+) for flying out to make a guest appearance, and to David (OONS) for cranking out some bangers. Look out for the next one — we have some big things comin!
Dave Nada invented Moombahton (pronounced Moom-buh-tone) at his little cousin’s house party when he slowed an Afrojack remix down to 108 beats per minute. Since then, he’s been making reggaeton-tempo edits of Dutch house and tropical house, and clubs have been going crazy for the stuff. [Excerpt from DJ Ayres]
This shit is actually pretty sick! I get that slowed down creeper vibe like in a dubstep track, but it’s got this whole different feel to it with the all pitch-bent afro noise (especially in Moombhaton & Seductive Sound). Really interesting stuff here…was very compelled to give it a post!
Check out everything for download at the following link. Big ups to Discobelle for turning me onto this.
HiJack..oh HiJack! I was prompted to invest some research time on the UK-based producer as I was browsing Squeegie last week. Before I started my conquest I also realized that I haven’t posted the Oliver $ remix of Keep It Real (hence, the post title). Anyways, his newest EP, Way Back, with tech house power duo Santiago and Bushido is just delightful! Puttin’ It Down has this great, bouncy tech house feel, with percussion that just cuts through the mix like buuuutter. Not to mention the most superb placement of a Busta Rhymes lyric — the lead vocal stab is perfect! Hmmm! I’m only posting this one, so you’ll have to pick up the whole EP to hear all four tracks. Majority of these are in 128-192 range, so hit up Beatport and show some support!
